The Maritimes in October - Too Good To Be True

During the last week of October we were fortunate enough to hit the maritimes again, this time for a tour of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. We hit the Fredericton Playhouse for their new "Spotlight Series" which means both the artists and the audience are on the stage creating a more intimate performance. We then headed to Halifax to the Company House, one of our favourite rooms on the east coast. The audience was warm, enthusiastic and electric - we can't wait to return.

On Wednesday, we were lucky enough to go back to the Playhouse in Fredericton for a sold out show. On Friday we zipped over to the Riverview Arts Centre in Riverview, New Brunswick to play in a great theatre in a school. We slept in the next morning before heading to Saint John to the Imperial Theatre (pictured below) where we met up with our good friends, the musical duo The Human Statues.

Sunday, October 31st, we travelled to Annapolis Royal, NS, a beautiful little town via a ferry, and the town of Digby to play the King's Theatre. In Digby we stopped for some seafood chowder and then went shopping for Halloween costumes. Pictured below is a terrified Caroline and a monster named "Sue."

The town of Annapolis Royal is beautiful and quaint. We ate at a nearby pub - I ate something called "Potatchos" which is exactly what it sounds like... delicious! We noticed a family had put up a pumpkin family outside their beautiful home. Below is a photo of Caroline joining the family on the lawn.

We stayed in two beautiful B&Bs on this trip, the Mahogany Manor in Saint John, and the stunning Hillsdale House Inn in Annapolis Royal. Our hosts were delightful and accommodating. They fed us, chatted with us and shared their homes with us. We are so grateful to meet people like this in our travels.

There is so much more to say about this trip. About the audiences, the people we met and the times we shared together. It was a frantic tour, that didn't let us stay in any one town for very long, but we're not worried... we'll be back soon for sure, hopefully when our new album drops in 2011.

That's all for now. I hope you like the pictures - if you want more updates, you can join us on Facebook, where we frequently update our whereabouts and other tidbits of our lives along the way.
